As I-95 bends toward the
sea, Exits 29, 36 and 38 are the ingress and egress to Brunswick's residential,
education and employment areas. A great family and retirement community where
crime is low, people are friendly and the life-style is laid back; low stress.
Residents enjoy tourism amenities throughout the coastal region.
Five (5) flags have flown
over the Golden Isles, leaving a rich heritage and diversity in architectural
styles. History abounds and local legends add color to this coastal region. The
contrasts are amazing, from a 900 year old oak tree where Indian braves met
their maidens to huge ocean-going freighters from around the world, Brunswick is
a treasure to experience.
Old Town Brunswick is the
largest, small town, urban National Register Historic District in Georgia. A
quaint port city with a bustling waterfront framed district with 12 antique
shops, dozens of specialty shops, cafes and galleries, the financial, government
and legal centers of the community, farmer's market, regional library,
performing arts theatre and shrimp boats docked along
the waterfront.
Brunswick and Glynn
County is proud to be the home of:
-
A Division of the
University of Georgia,
College of
Coastal Georgia provides educational
and cultural services to the region.
-
The Federal Law
Enforcement Training Center (FLETC) is tasked with training federal agents
from all agencies excluding FBI and has a major positive impact on the
community. This center is a major factor in Homeland Security.
-
